This is more than the story of what i survived
For a long time, I thought strength was about getting through things. Something happens. You deal with it. You pick yourself up and keep going. But writing this book made me go back.
There were memories that made me smile. Others were harder to sit with. I laughed while writing some chapters, cried through others, and on some days, I simply closed my laptop. I also had to be honest.
About myself. About my choices. About the things that happened to me and the things I could have done differently.
Writing it made me realise that my story was never only about how many times I managed to rise. It was also about learning to live. That is why the final words of this book mean so much to me:
“I am grateful that I rose. But now I want to do more than rise. I want to live.”

A note from me
I first started trying to tell this story in 2023. I thought I would write a book. I didn’t know it would take several attempts, many pauses and eventually starting all over again from a blank document before I would finally have the book I wanted to put my name on. There were times I stopped writing completely.
And when I eventually started again, I told almost no one. For months, hardly anyone knew I was writing this book. So being able to finally say, I wrote it, means a lot to me. Thank you for being here. I really can’t wait for you to read it. ❤️
